For any learner, there are ways that you can improve your English skills easily.
Here, we look at the different skills on which language levels are measured, how learners can improve them in their free time, and why frequency is important.
Speak as much as possible!
Whenever you have the chance to speak, do it. Find situations where you can speak. If you have the chance, attend foreigner meet-ups; there are many that take place around the world, so you will probably be able to find one near you.
If you have a friend who's learning English, agree to go for coffee a few times a week and have a rule that for one hour, you will ONLY speak in English. Don't be afraid of making mistakes: No one cares about mistakes; it's more important to be understood. Just speak without thinking about grammar and without fear. The more you do it, the easier it will become.
The purpose of speaking is not to learn a lot; it’s just to practise doing it as much as possible to build your confidence—every learner is the same in the beginning: they feel shy and lack confidence about speaking in front of people, and are worried about mistakes. This creates a block that can then prevent us from speaking even when we think that we want to. It’s very important to get past this block and free yourself for non-stop speaking. Also, speaking a lot is a great way to train your muscles to be comfortable with creating sounds and words in English.
Speak as much as you possibly can, every day. And remember, do it without fear.
